The Pale Blue Dot: The picture of Earth from 4 billion miles away. As told by Carl Sagan through some my favorite films set to the music of Mogwai. http://palebluefilms.com/?p=11... I've had some requests for subtitles from people abroad. I hope the English subtitles help a few more people understand the narration. Please feel free to translate the subtitles into your native language. http://subtitle.in/w/2pfwY2TNe... Subtitles (thanks to wedgewu): http://subtitle.in/w/2pfwY2TNe... I like, "it underscores our responsibility to deal more kindly with one another".

That's Cmdr Dave Bowman, from 2001, played by Kier Dullea, and he's either in an external airlock or in the CPU core of the onboard HAL 9000 computer in the USS Discovery.

I was thinking, we don't have any enemies just, ourselves.

This is a great video, for some reason the scene from 2001 really got to me, it was the realisation that even our far out sci-fi is still confined to our tiny blue dot perception of the universe. Also "the only home we've ever known" makes me melancholy as hell. Lets save the earth guys!

This was beautifully humbling.
