You have the same wedge fricative speech impediment that I have. Nice job on the editing.

Joe, Great set of videos. I was wondering how long does your sparge last? 1 gal. per 10 min? Also my recipes say my gravity should be at a certain point but all my gravity are coming out 10 points lower (Example 1.062 and comes out at 1.052). Any ideas? thank you

Great video, fellow homebrewer! My brother and I have been brewing beer for almost two years, but have yet to try all-grain. It doesn't seem all too difficult, but why do I read a lot about adding nutrients/enzymes to the "mash", when clearly you can just steep and sparge with water only, as you did in the video...? I guess that's where I get confused. You have a nice setup there.... much cooler than anything in my basement at least!

Very impressed with your video, Joe! Kudos!I have a question about your kettle, though. Where/how did you turn the stainless steel keg into your kettle? I figure you'd probably sawed the opening in the top or something, but I'm not sure, exactly. Also, if you did... where did you go to get your empty kegs? I am going to be moving away from extract brewing and I have a feeling I'll be showing this to friends who also brew. Wonderful!

Yes, the copper piece at the bottom of the mash tun is the manifold, which allows the liquid to drain out while leaving the grain particles and husks in the tun. I used a sawz-all to cut the slits.

thanks Joe! enjoyed your video a lot. One question i have is, what is filtering the grains from flowing through the pump during the sparging? (that copper piece?, how does it work?) Thanks

Excellent video. I am a beginner and really look forward to trying all-grain. You make it seem simple.

Joe, I decided to watch your video. I am about to make the jump from extract with grain brewing to all grain brewing. Getting my Mash tun today. I must say you are my new hero. Your setup is awesome. Cheers to our wives for putting up with our hobbies! |
