I'm just trying Rogue for my first time (Mocha Porter bought from my local publix here in TN..... WOW ...is this good !.... I'm picky about my beer...cause i only drink one or two at a time.... and for those who are complaining about price..... Pffft...I think 2 bucks a beer (or 2.15 if the 6 pack is 13 bucks) is a GREAT DEAL for something this tasty !.... most bars around here charge THAT for Crap beer ...and good beers are 3.00 to 3.50 in a bottle ....THANKS Rogue .... mocha porter Mmmmmm

mmm.....Rogue beers. I wouldn't consider them to be that pricey. There are definitely other brewers out there that are more expensive. Unfortunately the price of ingredients has skyrocketed the past year or two so you're seeing the cost of these excellent beers go way up from where they were not that long ago. Fortunately I have a gf that works at a great liquor store so I don't have to worry about that all the time. : )

Those bringing up the issue of price of....say...Dead Guy Ale. Sure, its higher priced...but its also higher flavored AND higher alcohol content. I can put a price on those 2 items and if that means I pay $12-$13 a sixxer of Dead Guy...so be it. I would rather drink 6 pricey beers that taste great than 30 that will only give me a HUMONGOUS headache and make me piss like a horse. I understand the price thing...but when you buy a craft beer...you're buying more than just a beer.

@WAKeele It's pretty simple. Here's how it works for us. John Maier makes the beer to his specifications. The sales people then look at what it cost to make the beer and what kind of margin we need to make to stay in business. That's the price we sell it at.
WAKeele (January 1, 1970 at 12:59 am)
@RogueHQ That doesn't answer the question. That's obvious. I wouldn't expect any craft brewer with the name and distribution to do so, i.e a certain revenue. From what I've read on many of the bottles, generally local ingredients are used. There's got to be more to it than that. I mean a great beer is worth it sometimes--and if you have the money, all the time. I just can't pay that much for beer like that regularly unless I'm trying something new. I drink quality or it's water for me.

@WAKeele because Brewmaster John Maier decides what goes in the beer, not the accountants.

Well god bless your taste buds. We feel the same way. I'd rather drink water than crap beer any day.

Dead Guy Ale was my first venture into micro brew beer and have been hooked since!! no longer can I even stand the sight or smell from tthe likes of bud, coors etc. lol. Micro brews do it right all the way and Rogue is one of my top 5 favorites!
