@dynomax666 Yes, I don't do it in the microwave anymore. (funny what we've learned in a couple of years on line). Hot water for the can and the high malt glucose. Good point mate!

@GREGWOOPSDATASS You can use all dry malt extract. Use about 1.2 pounds per gallon of wort. So for a 5 gallon batch, use between 5 and 6 gallons (closer to 6 for a stronger beer) of liquid malt extract.

that adjunct i bet is corn based. Have you ever tried just warming it submerged in some hot water? Also, you talk about sanitation, and you are microwaving a plastic container??? That is not too smart... that is like warming a baby bottle in the microwave... wrong idea. Warm that up in some hot water for 5-10 minutes along with your extract. also... that high malt glucose is made to be a substitute for your corn sugar. i may try your boiling method though, I like it.

I was just wondering, Craig, if it is absolutely necessarry to use liquid malt extract? DO i have to use both? I am going to brew a 5 gallon batch. How many pounds of dry malt extract should I use? I am going to use hop pellets and leaves along with the DME. Also, when should I use the corn sugar and what is the right amount. I dont want to go overboard....during the boling process? or after, right before I pour my yeast? ANY INFO?? Thanks

wow. i was just kidding about the colonel sanders thing. i do like you videos, and am still looking forward to brewing my first beer. i haven't got my first brew kit yet. you indeed have taught me a lot of things about brewing in your videos that i didn't know before. thanks, i do appreciate all your hard work. i know it is time consuming and not an easy thing to do.

CraigTube, I like your response to the previous person! Good attitude! Keep on brewing! Looking forward to that fried chicken recipe. :)

@snackmachines That's a compliment. Yes I do. I was actually planning on doing a fried chicken vid.

@thekidsta depends on the type of beer you are making if you throw in the sock or not.
snackmachines (January 1, 1970 at 12:59 am)
